The first project phase of the BSS project, carried out during calendar year 2014, we are carrying out analyses of the use-cases for the BSS project, related to the questions of how bio data related to occurrence data for fish, invertebrates, weeds, and birds should be federated and mobilised in New Zealand.
We are doing that through a number of workshops and online surveys including key stakeholders in New Zealand.
Output of this project phase will be a report detailing the requirements for a New Zealand Bio Data Infrastructure.
The report of this work stream can be found here.
This project phase develops inputs for the second BSS project phase, the infrastructure work stream.
As part of that a "strawman" for a bio data infrastructure is developed.
