Overall aim:

Select 1 or 2 most suitable frameworks for more detailed assessment and trialling

  • Review programme goals, timeline, and deliverables (Sandy)
  • Summarise user needs as identified in the end-user workshop (Val)
  • Review the types of models that the framework should cater for, agree on scope (Sandy)
  • Extend, compile, consolidate and agree the desired attributes of the framework (Val)
  • Review the inventory of frameworks (Daniel)
  • Revise desired attributes, discussion (Daniel)
  • Agree on work tasks for next meeting (Sandy)

Framework Assessment Criteria

  • Openness - both in terms of the framework, and the models themselves (be able to access models documentation)
  • Extensibility - can add/revise models, data, etc, can extend to other domains
  • Auditability - models are peer reviewed, understood, documanted
  • Scenarios - investigate a variety of inputs to a given model
  • Modularity - vary model components
  • Repeatability - enough documentation to replicate results
  • Suitability - experimental and regulatory
  • Compatibility - thru use of standards
  • Governance - does it exist and if so is it accessible, clear, understandable, reputable. Or: is it easy to replicate/put in place
  • UI & visualization
  • Support for offline processing & setup
  • Training
  • Robustness
  • Lifecycle support (upgrades?)
